20 Days Social Media Detox + Bye for now PH!

April 13, 2017

Hey, mommas and lovely readers!

We're finally be boarding the plane soon and we are very much looking forward to our first out-of-the-country trip will Arya. I think I did bad on my first attempt to pack our luggage because I literally packed everything! Including the sterilizer...

I did attempt to do a How to Pack blog post but I don't want to because it's too messy, plus I don't think my suggestions will matter. LOL! Our luggages are a total chaos. I repeat, CHAOS! So, maybe next time?

Anyway, I'll be gone for a while. 20 days to be exact. I'll be offline on most of my personal social media accounts including Facebook and Facebook Messenger but I'll be online on Instagram to upload a few photos of our travel. I wanted to focus and improved this blog and my vlog so I'll be practicing while we are in Vietnam.

Another thing I look forward to is to finally take a time off of social media. I've been working non-stop for this industry for more than 5 years now and I think I deserve a much needed break. I longed for the days where I don't check notifications on my phone. I'm thinking of doing an update of this experiment on either my blog or vlog, whichever I think I like to do best. I'm all experimenting as of the moment. :)

That's it for now, I just really wanted to post an update in case you guys starts wondering why I won't be posting anything any time soon. Remember, you can send us an email, or a personal message in our Facebook page if something comes up!

PS: I hope I get to survive 20 days without logging in to Facebook.

Love yah all,

Bye for now!

Rookie Mommy PH - until my next blog post!

Our very first Kidzoona experience

April 6, 2017

Hey, rookie mommas!

Have you ever been to Kidzoona? I know a lot of moms have been raving about this play place but we only got to try Kidzoona recently!

We visited the branch near ours, at Fairview Terraces mall and I am so glad that we did! My golly, I didn't know I will enjoy it more than Arya did. I'll be sharing a few photos. Cos I don't wanna flood my Instagram account with all of these so lemme put these all here. *wink

Loooooove the ball pit!

Look at her face! So much joy and curiosity haha

Arya loves this one the most, color sorting!

 She loves sorting in general...eggs...

More eggs....

There's also lockers, lounge area, drinking area, and whole other activity for our babies!

Kidzoona is truly a space for our young achievers. It brings out the kids in us as well. There's so much other things to do so I'll make sure to update this post with lots of photos on our next visit!

Kidzoona Fairview Terraces Fees:
1 and a half hour play time = P300 (Kid + 1 adult)
+ P150.00 for every adult
*Shoe locker is free of use
*A deposit of P100.00 for bag lockers

Rookie Mommy PH - Can't wait to go back into that ball pit!

40 words my 21 months old toddler can say

April 1, 2017

Hey, rookie mommas!

Have you ever felt anxious that your toddler can only speak a certain number of words? Don't worry. Seriously. It's okay. I honestly believe that our toddler's speech learning capacity is different and case to case basis.

I HATE it when I stumble upon blogs, articles or even seminars where in they forces us to believe that our kids should be able to say a hundred or a thousand or specific words. I honestly think it is a joke. There's a LOT of things that influences our toddler's capacity to learn how to speak like who does our babies interact to everyday? What do they watch? Do you read them books? What type of environment do they live? How many lives in the house with them? etc. in short, MADAMI!

Sharing with you the exact words my little Arya can say and all the things on this list are what she currently understand. This girl can't even call our names yet she knew a lot of words already.

Colors - Arya learned how to differentiate colors through her silent cloth book and of course, Youtube.
  1. Red
  2. Yellow
  3. Blue
  4. Green
  5. Pink
  6. White
  7. Black
  8. Brown
  9. Orange
  10. Purple

So far, she know what to say 2, 4, 6, 8. I' not sure why she's fond of even numbers. Hehe

She knows how to say the letters A, B, C, D, E, F, H, I,O, T, U Not particularly in the order we know so I sang her the alphabet song everyday hoping she catches it real soon.

  1. Square
  2. Circle
  3. Triangle

I'll put an * on the words that she can say but doesn't know what it means yet.

  1. Cat
  2. Meow
  3. Dog
  4. Cow
  5. Bird
  6. Fish
  7. Horse
  8. Ants
  9. Mama * - She only say mama whenever she cries and wants something.
  10. Papa * - She only say papa occasionally and its to his lolo and sometimes to his father.
  11. Mommy * - She only calls me mommy when I ask her "Sino ako?" So I need to work on this. Honestly she doesn't call anyone's name in the house yet.
  12. Hello
  13. Hi
  14. Bye
  15. Touch
  16. Sky
  17. Star
  18. Moon
  19. Sun
  20. Airplane
  21. Yes
  22. Please

I think that's it....She can't even say milk or dede yet and I am completely okay with that. For the record, I did consult our pedia and she did say that learning how to speak words or how fast they learn depends on a lot of things while they grow up. She did mentioned that as long as the baby can already speak two syllables up at this age then it should be fine.

So you, stop over thinking and seriously stop comparing your kids to other kids who can say a million word already.  Parenting should not be about competing with other mom's kids or comparing them with what you think are smarter kids that yours. let them grow on their own and just guide them along the way, they can only be kids once and we only get to be an exhausted mom for a little while. Cherish every moment of it. :)

UPDATE 4/6/2017

New words:

  • Yummy
  • Wow
  • Yay
  • Daddy
  • Pizza

Rookie Mommy PH - Arya loves saying cat and dog so much. >.<
